Entrust us with your items, Mökki takes care of the rest. Mökki is the solution to make your life easier and have a positive impact on the planet, simply!
Step 1. Visit Mökki to drop off your clothes.
Step 2. Mökki automatically sorts out resale, donation, and recycling for you and sends your items directly to its partners. All you have to do is follow their new life on your user profile! The resale, donation, and recycling are done for you. Simple as Mökki, we told you!
→ Good to know in case of resale:
* In case of resale, Mökki gives you the full resale price without any hidden commission!
* Depending on the item, the profit percentage varies between 5% to 30% of the estimated new price
* Resale can take up to 4 to 6 months for some items
* For certain luxury or off-season items, the complete process can take up to 12 months... Hard to resell a ski suit in the middle of July, right?
* Mökki cannot guarantee 100% that your item will be resold:
Assignment to resale must be confirmed by the partner during their inspection of the item
Resale depends on supply and demand: your items will be listed for resale for 3 to 9 months depending on the partner, after which unsold items will automatically be donated to associations. A beautiful new life for your items still!
→ You can decide to donate your items to a partner association through Mökki instead of reselling them, it's your choice. In this case, let us know at the time of your deposit.
Step 3. You can track online the progress of your items and your environmental impact, on your personal space Mökki. There is always a second life possible for your items!
Step 4. In case of resale by our partners, Mökki gives you the full resale price (the amount refunded by the partner to Mökki): you will receive an email allowing you to collect this gain!
What are the conditions for accepting items at Mökki?

The list of items accepted varies by our spaces.
In our Paris Le Marais space, we accept women's, men's, baby, and children's clothing up to 12 years old and fashion accessories (shoes, handbags, hats, belts... ).
The acceptance conditions are as follows:
* Freshly laundered clothes: Only machine-washed clothes cleaned within the last 15 days, dry, folded, and odor-free (tobacco, perfumes, humidity, mustiness, animals, etc.) are accepted for hygiene reasons and out of respect for the people who will reuse your clothes tomorrow as well as our sorting staff.
* Underwear/ tights/ socks: These are automatically recycled for the same reasons. They must also be clean, dry, and odor-free. We suggest bringing them directly in a separate bag.
* All deposited in clean bags!
* Clothes for resale: Check the eligibility criteria for resale in our FAQ.
We do not (yet) accept the following items:
* toys, books, computer equipment.
Only in our La Défense and Bourse Réaumur spaces, we also accept: Toys, books, computer equipment.
How is the sorting between resale, donation, and recycling done?

Your items are sorted one by one between resale, donation, or recycling at our workshop in Paris according to their condition and the criteria of our partners. You can also decide to donate them to an association rather than reselling them, simply indicate this directly during your deposit in the store!
Here are the steps our sorting team follows for each item:
Step 1: We entrust resale partners with clothes that are in very good overall condition.
→ Without signs of wear, fading, holes, stains, pilling, missing buttons, faulty zippers, etc.
→ Washed, meaning machine-cleaned within the last 15 days
→ Odor-free (tobacco, perfumes, humidity, mustiness, animals, etc.)
→ With the brand and size label (the composition label is not mandatory for resale but it is always better to have it to better evaluate the value of the item) ✨
⚠️⚠️ Attention! Resale partners have very specific selection criteria and do not accept everything! The acceptance of an item for resale takes into account not only the overall condition of the item but also the brand, model, supply and demand, and stocks at a given time. For example, a ski suit or fleece coat is hard to resell in the middle of August.
Step 2: If the items cannot be resold but are in good enough condition to be worn, we donate them to partner associations to give them a second life to those who need them most.
Step 3: Finally, clothes that cannot be reused (damaged or stained for example) are sent to our recycling partners.
→ These items are recycled and reused to manufacture insulation panels for example.
Do you accept torn, holed, or stained clothes?

Clothes in poor overall condition but clean are generally accepted and sent to our recycling partners. You can consult all the conditions for recycling acceptance in our FAQ.
Is there a minimum and maximum number of clothes to bring?

No minimum but come with up to 50 items per deposit for professional spaces and a maximum of 15 items per deposit at our public space in Sully-Morland.
Do I need a Mökki account to deposit my items?

To deposit your items at Mökki, you must have a user account on our website. This will allow you to follow the progress of your deposit, the positive impact you have on the planet, and much more at any time!
You can create this account before coming to deposit your items in your Mökki space or do it directly on-site with our team who will be delighted to do it for you.

Can I choose to donate my items instead of reselling them?

Absolutely!
You can decide to donate your items to an association rather than reselling them, just indicate this directly during your deposit in your Mökki space.
Of course, they must first go through our sorting workshop which will determine what can be donated and/or what will be recycled.

What types of items are donated?

We donate to partner associations the clothes that cannot be resold but are still in a condition to be reused by someone else.
These must be in good overall condition and clean. The cut and model must also be wearable in everyday life.
You can also choose to donate your items to a partner association rather than reselling them, it's your choice. In this case, let us know at the time of your deposit.
What types of items are recycled?

Recycling is the last option for your items that cannot be resold or given to another person because it requires a process of transforming the material and therefore has a more significant carbon impact (but still less than if you threw your clothes in the trash!).
These items are recycled and reused as raw material to manufacture insulation panels for your home, for example.
How is the impact of my actions calculated?

To rigorously calculate the impact of each of your actions, Mökki has created an algorithm based on data from the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) with the help of key players in the circular economy including the National Institute of Circular Economy (INEC). This allows us to quantify the CO2 equivalence impact saved for each item deposited at Mökki based on the type of item, its composition, its weight, and what it becomes in its new life between resale, donation, or recycling.
Mökki is proud to be among the 100 French services to have received the demanding and prestigious BCorpTM certification, labeling companies that meet precise societal and environmental standards!
Can I send my items to Mökki?

For now, we do not offer our services by mail. To benefit from our services, you must visit the nearest Mökki space.
Resale at Mökki
What are the conditions for accepting items for resale?

We entrust our resale partners with clothes that are in very good overall condition and 'ready to be used' by their new owner.
Eligibility criteria for resale:
→ Freshly laundered clothes, machine-cleaned less than 15 days ago, dry and odor-free (tobacco, perfumes, humidity, mustiness, animals, etc.)
→ With the brand and size label (the composition label is not mandatory for resale but it's always better to have it to best assess the value of the item)
→ Without signs of wear, fading, holes, stains, or pilling
→ Printed fabrics and logos must be in perfect condition, not cracked, etc.
→ No missing or damaged buttons, zippers in perfect working order, etc.
→ Without 'custom' alterations like hems
⚠️⚠️ Attention! Our resale partners have very specific selection criteria and do not accept everything! The acceptance of an item for resale takes into account not only the general condition of the item but also the brand, model, cut, supply and demand, and stocks at a given time. For example, a ski suit or fleece coat is difficult to resell in the middle of August. Similarly, a jacket from a major brand dating from the Yeye years is unlikely to find a buyer among our reseller partners today...
Time-saving tip: Feel free to separate the clothes you would like to resell from those you want to donate or recycle. This will save you time during your visit to Mökki!

In case of resale, Mökki gives you the entire amount paid by the resale partner, without any additional commission taken by Mökki!
Depending on the item, the profit percentage varies between 5% to 30% of the estimated new price.
Once the sale is made, you will receive an email to collect your money securely.
→ Good to know:
* Resale can take up to 4 to 6 months for some items.
* For certain luxury or off-season items, the complete process can take up to 12 months… Hard to resell a ski suit in the middle of July, right?
* Mökki cannot guarantee 100% that your item will be resold:
The assignment to resale must be confirmed by the partner during their inspection of the item

How do I collect my earnings in case of resale?

In case of resale, Mökki gives you the entire resale price paid by the partner! Mökki takes no additional commission.
→ Once the resale is made, you will receive an email to collect your money securely.
Resale can take up to 4 to 6 months for some items.
This is because once received and sorted by Mökki, they are then sent to our partners who will take care of reselling them for you through their own distribution channels. This costly and laborious process thus takes time... For you, it's that much time saved to read a good book or watch the latest series everyone is talking about, right?
→ Attention: For certain luxury or off-season items, the complete process can take up to 12 months. Reselling a ski suit in the middle of July is not easy, but we accept the challenge!

What brands do you accept?

For donation and recycling, we accept all brands as long as your deposit meets our acceptance conditions. Feel free to consult them before visiting us in our FAQ!
In the particular case of resale, our partners accept nearly 9,000 brands. Clothes without a brand or from brands not known to the general public are not accepted.
In the case of resale, the brand is more important and its acceptance depends on several conditions such as the overall condition, model, cut, supply and demand at that specific moment, etc... You can consult all the resale conditions in detail in our FAQ.
How long does the resale take?

Resale can take up to 4 to 6 months for some items. This is because once received, they are then sent to our partner who in turn takes charge of the resale on your behalf.
→ Attention: For certain luxury or off-season items, resale can take 12 months. Reselling a ski suit in the middle of July is not easy!
→ Good to know, Mökki cannot guarantee 100% that your item will be resold:

Tracking the New Life of Your Clothes
How can I track the progress of my clothing deposit?

You don't have to do anything!
You will be kept informed by email about the progress of your deposit's processing.
You can also follow its progress, the positive impact you have on the planet, and much more at any time by directly logging into your personal space at Mökki.
What happens to my clothes?

Once sorted, we send them to our various partners who are responsible for giving them a second life according to their expertise: resale, donation, or recycling. In this way, you minimize your carbon footprint and give a second life to your items! A good deed for you... and for the planet!
You can follow your deposit and the new life of your items by logging into your personal space at Mökki.
Deposit Rejected: What Does This Mean?

Sometimes our sorting workshop has to reject your deposit. Like in a breakup, it's never nice to be dumped! So what could explain it?
Your deposit can be rejected for several reasons related to its hygiene and therefore the safety and health of our team.
For example, did you think to machine wash your items just before dropping them off (we estimate, for instance, that a wash within 15 days before your deposit is best to guarantee good hygiene conditions)? Did your clothes have a strong odor? Or were underwear and socks properly separated from the rest? You can consult all the acceptance conditions in our FAQ.
